چکیده
Nanofiltration (NF) membrane processes are attractive to remove multivalent ions. As ion retention in NF membranes is determined by both size and charge exclusion, negatively charged required reject Layer-by-layer assembly of alternating polycation (PC) polyanion layers on top a support versatile method produce membranes. Especially the polyelectrolyte (PE) couple polydiallyldimethylammoniumchloride poly(sodium-4-styrenesulfonate) (PDADMAC/PSS) extensively investigated. This PE cannot form highly surfaces, due interdiffusion overcompensation PDADMAC into PSS layers, which limits operational window tailor properties. We propose use asymmetric layer formation show how combining two densities one PC can Starting from hollow fiber ultrafiltration supports coated with base PDADMAC/PSS, they PDADMAC/PSS or poly(acrylamide-co-diallyldimethylammoniumchloride), P(AM-co-DADMAC)/PSS layers. P(AM-co-DADMAC) has density only 32% compared 100% for PDADMAC. The particular novel have surface high permeabilities (7–19 L/[m2hbar]), retentions Na2SO4 up 95%. Pharmaceutical retention mechanisms by nanofiltration membranes.
This study investigates the retention mechanisms of three pharmaceuticals-sulfamethoxazole, carbamazepine, and ibuprofen-by nanofiltration (NF) membranes. Laboratory-scale experiments were carried out with two well-characterized NF membranes, with the goal of relating pharmaceutical retention behavior to membrane characteristics, physicochemical properties of the pharmaceutical molecules, and s...
متن کاملCellulose Acetate Nanofiltration Membranes for Cadmium Remediation
In this work, cellulose acetate (CA) nanofiltration (NF) membranes were prepared via non-solvent phase inversion technique (NIPS). Polymer concentration was varied from 22 to 25 wt% in order to study its effect on the membrane properties. The fabricated membranes were characterized in terms of morphological analysis using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), contact angle, water content, water p...
متن کاملBonding, antibonding and tunable optical forces in asymmetric membranes.
We demonstrate that tunable attractive (bonding) and repulsive (anti-bonding) forces can arise in highly asymmetric structures coupled to external radiation, a consequence of the bonding/anti-bonding level repulsion of guided-wave resonances that was first predicted in symmetric systems. Our focus is a geometry consisting of a photonic-crystal (holey) membrane suspended above an unpatterned lay...
